A good reason to enroll in homeschooling is the emotional freedom. Being at a house or a library instead of a school cuts back from the regular school day with bullies, peer pressure, competition with other school mates and of course, boredom (Shaw, par. 6). All of those agonizing thoughts are all blown away with homeschooling. According to studies, self-esteem plummets in middle school girls. However, similar studies of homeschooled girls have shown that self-esteem remains intact and that these girls continue to thrive (Shaw, par. 6). Another turn on for choosing homeschooling is, homeschooled kids can dress, act and think the way they want, without fear of ridicule or a need to “fit in”, with the other students (Shaw, par. 6).
